The beginning of Cut Copy

Coming from Down Under (Australia) Cut Copy are considered an important reference in the electronic/synth music universe. This four-piece band (Dan Whitford (keyboards, voice), Ben Browning (bass), Tim Hoey (guitar) and Mitchell Scott (drums)) are the creative minds behind the big hit "Lights & Music", which gave them big success.

The band's first release is Bright Like Neon Love and features hits like "Future" and "Time Stands Still". This album was released in 2004 when the band was formed by Dan, Howard (guitar) and Bennet Foddy (bass). Howard was replaced by Hoey on the guitar, Foddy left the band and Scott joined them. The group's first gig was in front of 5,000 people, at a festival, which according to Howard was "sort of terrifying". This album is their debut act in the music industry and was followed by In Ghost Colours, in 2008.

This is Dan Whitford (the keyboardist and singer of the band) playing the Prophet 08, an awesome synthesizer made by Dave Smith Instruments, which they use when touring. The Prophet 08 is an analog synthesizer which features a lot of the one and only Prophet V sounds.
