Ben Browning's amazing new album Even Though
3 years after the release of Turns, australian bass player and artist Ben Browning has a new album that sounds pretty amazing. Ben is known for being Cut Copy's bassist but he has already released one solo album and a bunch of EPs and Singles.
Now talking about the album. Even Though presents 12 new songs that make us remember the 80s and the rising of synthpop in that decade. The album was preceded by two singles ("Sunshine Baby" and "Even Though").It is pretty easy to find signs of the presence of the 80s synthpop style. The album is full of synths, drums, bass. It's possible to compare these new songs to "Make it easy" (2015) and "I can't stay" (2012). "Even Though" is a ready summer song so it''s a great choice for a day at the beach or riding the bycicle in the seaside. The album starts with 52 seconds track which takes the listener into some sort of "musical path" where he/she gets to know the big universe that Ben created. The listener is transported into a mental 80s record shop where he/she finds different sounds (and that were popular in that time) that take him/her into different places (the songs from Even Though). The album was released on the 22 of June and showcases new and tropical material from the fourth member of the synth-driven band Cut Copy. It's the perfect choice for a summer playlist to go on an adventure and escape the daily and stressing life.
